Oak framing is a different decision again, adding a hand-lacquered hardwood frame around the surface rather than changing the surface itself, and the two can be combined on the same panel where the brief calls for it.
Frame material and mounting system
The mounting system needs to be specified against the actual wall build-up, since an oak-framed or rounded panel typically carries more weight than a standard frameless board and needs fixings rated for that load rather than a simple picture-hook mounting.
