Premium doesn’t have to mean oak. Two of the most common premium finishes, a solid oak frame and a SatinTones colour, solve for different things, and the right one depends on what the room and the wider interior are trying to achieve, not on which is more premium.

What oak framing actually adds
A solid oak frame changes the edge and detailing of a panel, adding a warm, tactile material against the wall. It reads as a considered, architectural choice, particularly where a room already uses natural materials elsewhere, and it works with any of Chameleon’s ceramic steel shapes, Sharp, Curve, or their wall versions.
What a SatinTones colour finish actually adds
Rather than changing the frame, a SatinTones finish changes the ceramic steel surface’s own colour and gloss level, so the board matches or deliberately contrasts with a wall colour or interior palette. It suits projects where the priority is the board blending into a colour scheme rather than adding a different material.
Choosing between the two
Oak framing tends to suit projects built around natural materials, timber, stone, textiles, where a board with a plain edge would look out of place. A SatinTones colour tends to suit projects built around a considered colour palette, where a white panel would stand out for the wrong reasons. Most projects specify one or the other based on which material story the room is already telling.
