Specify a large classroom whiteboard the same way for a big lecture theatre as for a standard classroom, and the sightlines, mounting height and size that worked in one room can fall short in the other. A large learning space calls for a different specification approach than a standard room does, driven by viewing distance and seating scale. Specify for the room’s actual scale and the board performs for the capacity it is actually serving. Treat the specification process as room-specific from the outset, and most of the common large-format mistakes are avoided before they happen.
