A custom shape whiteboard uses a waterjet-cut logo, skyline or motif to carry the brand instead of, or alongside, colour. This changes the board’s physical geometry rather than its finish, and the effect on writing area depends entirely on where the cut sits. A logo cut into a corner or along the outer edge changes little about the usable surface, while a large cut-out placed within the writing area itself will noticeably reduce it. Because the shape is cut into the board, the design needs to be finalised before manufacture. Once produced, the cut-out shape cannot be added or changed afterwards, though it will not fade or wear the way a printed or coated finish could, since it is a permanent physical shape rather than a surface treatment.
For the same meeting room, a waterjet-cut version of the company logo integrated into the board’s outline creates a much stronger visual statement than colour alone, though the design still needs to account for the space the cut takes up.
