Even with a thorough specification, unexpected wall issues sometimes surface only once fixing begins, so building in a small contingency, both budget and time, avoids a minor surprise turning into a scheduling problem for the rest of the project. Once the board is fixed, have your installer confirm it sits flush and level before they leave site: a frameless board with no frame to disguise a slight lean is more noticeable than a framed one if the initial fixing wasn’t perfectly level. Confirm explicitly whether your supplier’s installation team handles wall preparation, such as patching old fixing holes or repainting where needed, or whether that’s expected to be done beforehand by your own contractor, since this is a common gap that causes delays if it’s assumed rather than agreed. Where the whiteboard is one part of a larger fit out, confirm this with the main contractor directly rather than assuming it’s covered under general wall preparation.

Hold on to the final specification, wall type, panel size, surface finish, even after installation, and on larger projects with multiple stakeholders, nominate one person to keep the sign off version so nothing gets lost between revisions. If this is the first of several rooms getting frameless boards, keep the checklist and reuse it, adjusting only what’s genuinely different about the next room.
