Without a frame, the edges are more exposed during transport, so reputable suppliers ship them in dedicated protective crates rather than simple wrapping. Ask how a large panel will be delivered and who’s responsible for moving it into the room.

If your building has an unusual wall construction, such as exposed brick, curved partitions or heritage plasterwork, it’s worth getting your supplier’s installation team to assess it directly rather than relying on a description alone, since photos alone can miss details that affect the fixing method.

Once installed, take a few clear photos of the board and its surrounding wall. Beyond looking good for a portfolio or internal report, these become useful reference points if any warranty or maintenance question comes up years later and nobody quite remembers the original specification.

Occasionally an installer opens up a wall and finds something unexpected, such as old cabling or a cavity that needs filling. Agree in advance who makes the call on additional work in that situation, so the install isn’t delayed waiting for someone offsite to approve a decision.

For an occupied office, ask your supplier whether the install can be scheduled outside core hours. Most frameless installations are quiet, dust-light jobs that can often run early morning or after most of the team has left, minimising disruption to the working day.

Agree beforehand who does the final inspection, whether that’s the facilities manager, the project lead or whoever specified the board, and what “finished” means in practical terms: flush, level, no visible marks on the surrounding wall. A clear sign-off avoids disputes later about whether snagging items were resolved.
