Collaborative spaces are rarely furnished with a single, obvious whiteboard choice in mind. A wall-mounted panel and a modular whiteboard wall can look similar in a product catalogue, but they solve genuinely different problems once installed. Choosing between them comes down to how the space is actually used, more than which option happens to fit the available wall. Neither option is inherently better, which is exactly why so many spaces end up with whichever was easiest to source rather than whichever genuinely suited the room.
