Wait for a large dry erase board to visibly run out of space before considering a bigger one, and a team can spend months working around a surface that has already made daily use noticeably harder. A handful of signs, content erased before everyone has seen it, a second board already added once, tend to show up together well before the board is obviously too small. Recognise them together and that is the signal to size up, not the wait for an outright failure.
