Dry erase wall or paint-on whiteboard coating: what actually lasts
Coating degrades in a way ceramic steel doesn't
Whiteboard paint is a coating applied to an existing wall surface, and coatings wear. Marker residue that isn’t cleaned off promptly can bond into the paint permanently, leaving faint ghosting that gets worse over time and cannot be buffed out the way it can on a manufactured writing surface. A dry erase wall holds proper magnets reliably for as long as the panels are in use, without that gradual weakening that undermines a coating’s usefulness for pinning up notes.
