Specify a premium whiteboard the same way regardless of project type, and a renovation can hit a wall that will not take the fixings, while a new build can miss the one window to get it into the BIM model before the wall is closed up. The fix is treating the two as genuinely different specification paths: what an existing wall decides for you in a renovation, versus what can be planned in from day one on a new build. Get that distinction right and the same finish and shape reach site without a late redesign either way.
