Suntera needed a meeting room at Plaza House to work as a genuine writing surface without looking like office equipment dropped into an otherwise considered interior. Why a standard white whiteboard would have undone the room
A meeting room built around a considered, calm material palette can lose that atmosphere the moment a stock white whiteboard goes up, since a bright white rectangle draws attention to itself against warmer, muted surroundings rather than sitting within them. The brief needed the writing surface to support the room’s atmosphere, not interrupt it.
Colour as a specification decision, not an afterthought
Rather than defaulting to white and treating the whiteboard as a fixture chosen after the interior was finished, the panel was specified in a SatinTones fired colour picked to sit within the room’s own material story. The finished room does what a meeting room needs to do, offering a full writing surface for the group around the table, without the whiteboard reading as the one piece of equipment that does not belong. A whiteboard’s colour finish fits that same standard when it is fired into the ceramic steel rather than painted on, so the panel keeps its considered look for as long as the rest of the fit-out is expected to last.
