How to properly maintain Chameleon PET felt?

Keep your PET felt wall clean and beautiful

Chameleon PET felt is a durable and low-maintenance material that retains its appearance for years when used correctly. With the proper care, the surface remains clean, fresh, and free of creases. In this guide, you will learn how to safely clean and restore PET felt so that it maintains its aesthetic and functional qualities.

1. Cleaning

Cleaning dust and dirt

Is there visible dust or dirt embedded in the material? Gently loosen it with a soft-bristled brush without applying too much pressure. Then carefully remove the loosened dirt using a vacuum cleaner.

Cleaning light stains

First, remove any loose dust and dirt (see above). Blot any spilled liquids immediately to prevent them from penetrating the material. Then apply a mild cleaning solution or soapy water with a hand sprayer. Make sure the surface does not become saturated. Allow it to air dry.

Cleaning stubborn stains

Moisten a lint-free cloth with a mild cleaning solution or a soap-and-water mixture. Gently blot the stain from the outside in, without rubbing. If necessary, use a clean cloth and repeat this process until no dirt is visible on the cloth. Then remove any remaining cleaning solution with a dry cloth. Next, use a clean cloth or sponge dampened with water to remove any residue. Allow the surface to air dry.

If the stain remains visible despite the above steps, try a cleaning product suitable for furniture or carpet fabrics and carefully follow the instructions on the packaging.

2. Restoration

Restoring creases

Creases in PET felt can be smoothed out with an iron. Set the iron to the highest temperature setting. Place a sheet of baking paper over the felt to prevent fibers from sticking to the iron. Move the iron slowly and evenly across the surface until the creases have disappeared.
