Frequently Asked Questions about Combi Products
All Chameleon whiteboards are enameled, which means the writing surface is glass-hard and completely smooth. This prevents the ink from a whiteboard marker from bonding to it. Simply wipe the whiteboard with a microfiber cloth to remove all ink instantly, leaving it clean.
However, if ink has been on the whiteboard for some time, it might leave a haze after wiping. No problem: use the eraser spray from our starter kit to fully remove any ink residue. If you don’t have the eraser spray, try using a damp microfiber cloth.
When choosing whiteboard markers, note that quality can vary. Cheaper markers are often harder to dry-erase. For the best writing and erasing performance, use markers from reputable brands. See our accessory selection for our whiteboard markers.
No, whiteboard marker ink is generally not washable from clothing. If ink from a whiteboard marker gets on clothing, it’s important to act quickly. You can try blotting with a damp cloth, followed by mild soap. However, it may not be possible to completely remove the ink from the fabric. For stubborn stains, you might need to use professional cleaning products or consult a dry cleaner.
At Chameleon, this question is as simple as the mounting system itself. All you need to do is attach one or more of the included magnet plates to the wall using the provided plugs. Precise alignment of the magnet plates is not necessary because the combi product clicks into place magnetically, allowing a generous margin for height and width adjustment. Using a glass lifter is recommended for placement of the combi product.
Our combi products are indeed magnetic—or rather, they have magnetic properties. The surface contains a steel layer that holds magnets. Even our chalkboard collection is magnetic. Chameleon chalkboards are constructed in the same way as a Chameleon whiteboard, but with a different surface.
Both writing boards have their own unique qualities. Let’s start with the biggest similarity: erasing quality. The surfaces of both products are equally easy to erase. The main advantage of a whiteboard is readability. Since it lacks the transparent glass layer found on glass boards, letters are more readable without shadow effects. This can be especially advantageous in educational and intensive professional settings. Check out our colorful matte SatinTones whiteboard surfaces and choose your favorite color.
The largest single panel we offer measures 118×298 cm. However, that doesn’t mean we can’t provide a larger writing surface. Our Sharp Wall Combi product, for example, is a large writing wall made of two or more panels mounted nearly seamlessly together, allowing for an essentially unlimited writing surface.
That’s possible with Chameleon. What do you need? A single, frameless combi product in a unique size? Or a wall-to-wall combi product that fits from floor to ceiling and wall to wall? Or perhaps you have a creative idea, like incorporating a logo? All of this is possible, and Chameleon is happy to collaborate. As the only provider in the market, we specialize in this. Chameleon combi products are frameless. The products are cut with special CNC machines. The edge is then hand-finished, with each board visually inspected for imperfections. This sharp edge allows the panels to be placed with minimal gaps between them, enabling the creation of a larger writing surface.
